Well I'm only 16 so working at my dads for now...

We own a full service garage and it used to be a gas station also.

My Grandpa started it in 1958, My dad inherited it in 1988, burned down in 1989, the rebuild let us add 2 bays to it, and we took out the gas pumps in 2003.

Took auto shop for two years in high school and worked as an auto tech as a backup job till I could get an aviation job after getting out of A&P school in 1983. Been a aircraft technician since 1984, worked at several FBO's (that's what shops are called at local airports) around central Indiana. (Anderson, Kokomo, and Lafayette) Spent 8 years working at a Bombardier / Learjet factory service center in Indianapolis until it was shut down in 2004. Started there as a technician and worked myself into a QA (Quality Assurance) job for 6 of those 8 years. Since 2004 I've been working as a aircraft technician / inspector for a big ten university located in West Lafayette, Indiana maintaining the student training fleet and corporate fleet, about 27 airplanes in all. We are currently replacing our student fleet with 16 brand new Cirrus SR-20's fully equipped with Garmin glass cockpits. Best job I've had so far in my 26 year career. As I always say, I get to go to work and play with airplanes every day, and they pay me to do it!
