Ive never shipped a motor before but now have to. What are some companies you guys might know of. And do I have to crate it up on a pallet myself or do they do it?

I had an engine shipped from Ohio to California in a crate by this company.

http://www.engineshipping.com/ the service was exceptional and prices were fantastic compared to other quotes I received.

Contact person was:
Mark Weidenhaft
Engines Direct
1-800-998-2100 ext.106
mark@enginesdirectfreight.com

I hope this helps.

Freight pro is reasonable. You would have to pallet it and it costs more to pick up/drop off at a residence. It is cheaper from business to business if possible.

Yup, and be sure to drain all of the fluids thoroughly. I would then seal it up with plastic and tape. You will probably not like the shipping companies' reaction if the engine starts leaking fluids. The engine needs to be well-secured to the crate.

you can use uship and get it done independant too. idk how much it would help. find a member with a empty truck going somewheres is a the best idea.
