I took my driver's licence test in the summer of 1963 in my dad's 1963 Chevy Impala 2dr ht, black + white painted top, red interior, 283, powerglide. I got my chauffeurs licence so I could drive a truck. Test was more difficult than the regular operator's licence.

This 1985 El Camino. My dad and I sat down at the dealer and ordered it. It was about six months old when I used it for the test (it was shorter than Mom’s Cadillac; the parallel parking test was the worst part). Still have it.

All 5 of my brothers and sisters and I borrowed our pastor's 1973 Ford Pinto hatchback. Talk about something easy to parallel park in!!;)
My younger sister actually failed her test in the Pinto but she passed in our family's
1970 Olds Delta 88!?!? It was white with black top and interior and a 455.

Sweet car until my older brother wrapped it around a tree!:eek:

I took my drivers license in a 1978 Subaru GL Wagon. 4 speed and a 1600 CC Horizontally Opposed engine. This was my favourite car. It wasn't fast, had a auto-reverse tape deck with 2 speakers. It wasn't what you would call a cool car, but it was mine. I loved it. 100 KPH (60 MPH) maximum speed but it was 4 wheel drive.

I took mine in my 66 Gran Sport 3 speed. Went to the next county over so I could take the test 2 days earlier and get my license sooner. No power steering or power brakes. This is how it looked when I bought it and when I took the drivers test. I still have the car today but use it for parts now.

Took my drivers test in a 4 door 1973 Chevy caprice. That car drove great and had plenty of pep for 2 barrel 350.....

Ok nothing cool like you guys but I did mine in a early 90's 5spd Honda civic hatchback borrowed off my buddy during lunch break in high school. I passed flying aces! That was probably due to I've been driving since I was 12, my step sister and her friends used to get me to take her Camaro to the store to get smokes (yes we could get smokes from the store with a note from a parent or of age person, small town store owners knew everybody) and munchies and crap when they were all wasted:p. Plus my dad used to let me drive the his ford Ltd the odd time too.
