    lower rad hose

Basicly it is just an L shaped hose, The tricky part is the two ends are different sizes. What I did is find a l shaped hose at my local parts store that fit the water pump end and was close enough to the rad size that I could stretchit  over the rad flange and then cut it to fit the length that I needed.
Another alternitive is to have your local muffler shop to bend a pipe to fit in between and connect each end with short pieces of rubber hose and GOOD clamps. :Brow: :Brow:

GM #1372827 lower rad. hose translates to a NAPA NBHFF197. I have no idea whether it too is a flex type or formed.

George I went through this a last year on a 65 GS, best fit I found was to use about12 inches, starting from the engine side,of a 70/72 Skylark upper hose. I have a NOS lower for a guide and bends are about the same and it fit great. The part number for the 70/70 upper Skylark was XL 107 from Auto Zone, and I think it was made by Kelly Springfield or Goodyear. It cost me $6.99 at the time and I bought two just to have a spare. Thanks Bill Sangster

Do a search on lower hose and you will see the post and the picture.

I wondered thru an Auto Value store until I found one with the right bend and cut it to size put the small end in to boiling water and stretched over radiator outlet.

I did the same thing on my GS--found one at the parts store that had the right bend in it and cut that part out of it to make a lower hose for my car. I didn't have to heat/stretch it though--it went on with no problem on both ends. I have since found an NOS Buick one that I put on the car.

I had a look at mine earlier tonight, but couldn't find any numbers. :Do No:
The car is put away for the winter, so I couldn't get underneath to look for any numbers on bottom of the hose. Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

It does look rather old, maybe it's the original. My car still has the original style tower clamps too.

What to use for lower 65/66 GS radiator hose

George, use a upper off the 70/72 350 to make the lower for the 65/6. See the picture. Thanks Bill

OK, so the lower is covered, but what do you use as an upper for the 65-66 GS Skylark? I have a ratty looking flex hose for an upper.

The upper is different depending on whether the car has AC on it or not. Which is yours Cheryl?

George. as far as the inlet and outlet sizes some racator shops have hose adaptors that make a larger hose fit on a smaller inlet or outlet. I would just go to a big auto parts store that would not mind you sizing up all the hoses they have in stock. I'm sure one would be close enough to work, AL.

Cheryl, I posted a pic of an upper, non-A/C, molded hose here:

It's originally for a 70's Ford, but it fits nicely, and most importantly, is still available. Gates #20704
