I think these were in a trunk if a 64 Skylark I bought years ago.

I was thinking they were off a Buick 350......
A heat shield may be and some sort of throttle cable bracket.

Do they look familiar to any one.

I don't see part numbers on them but they are greasy too.... The may be buried in grime.

    Thanks,

    Brian.

Pics 305 + 310 show either a starter shield or a motor mount shield. I think a starter/solenoid shield, but not sure what year/engine.

Buick starter heat shield and a piece of scrap metal

starter heat shield for sure. The other could be a bracket to hold the cruise control diaphragm on the rear on the intake.

Almost looks like something off a late 80's dodge, they got a kick out of making pointless brackets

They have been moved around from box to box...........every engine I had must not have had a starter shield on it I never seen one on any of the engines I had.

So the other bracket it junk......

Does anybody put the starter shield back on an engine? Would that be a good heat sink for header heat?

    Thanks.

I use them on them occasionally, no real reason not to I don't reckon, if used with headers it can get pushed down a little closer to the starter and if the starter isn't hooked up carefully you can have a bad day when it shorts obviously
