What are the widest tire I can run on a 71 skylark?

    Man that looks good! How much backspacing are you running in the front?

    Stock 7" wide wheel, 4 3/8" BS The backs are 8" wide with 4 1/2" BS. The 275's fit nice, but they are close on one side. It isn't uncommon to have the body not sit exactly square on the frame. I could probably use a little more BS in the back.

    So I'm about to order 15x8" with 4.5bs for the front with 255/60r15 and 15x9 with 5" bs rear with 275/60r15. From what I've read on here I'm thinking I should be pretty good.

    Yes, should be good, but like I said, it isn't unusual to have more room on one side than the other.
