    Hi Buick Enthusiasts,

    Looking to show your specialty Buick in this beautiful waterfront park? Well, Sunday, August 2, 2009 will be the upcoming Westcoaster Daze 6th Annual Run To The Reserve at Semiahmoo Park in White Rock.
    A few of us made it out last year, and had a great time, despite the periodic torrential downpour. This event is well run, offering many entertaining moments. I've included a link to highlight some of the show's details: http://therodgod.com/
    There's already a committment by the Grand National Racing Association to attend this event, so expect 8 or more clubmembers to have their Buicks out on display. I plan to bring my 1986 GN out for this show.
    Hope to see you out, and please respond to this thread if you and your family plan to attend.

    Take care,

    Nando.

    Hey Nando;
    Won't be able to make it as renovations/repairs to the house and getting the Electra ready for the Sechelt show will get in the way. If your driving near Vancouver on the way back, give me a call, if I'm at home you should drop by for a beer :beers2:

    Hi Doug,

    Yup, renovations... my most favourite duty. Just getting rooms ready for repainting. Try wall paper removal with a steamer in this hot weather, of late! Good excuse for rehydrating, though.
    I sent you an e-mail regarding our cottage reservation for the Sleepy Hollow Run in Sechelt. You'll be staying not too far from where we are, within 5 mins. drive in the GN.
    I'm not sure if we'll have time to stop by, after the White Rock show. Thanks for the invite.

    Talk later,

    Nando.

    Hi all,

    Sorry about the big delay in posting pictures of the show. This is one of the best-attended shows I've participated in. I'll follow up with an account of the show, later.

    As Johnny commented in a previous post in this thread, "fricken awesome!!" This annual event is always well attended, but last year's terrible weather factored in keeping the numbers down to a third of its' regular draw. No such negative factor in 2009, as over 400 fine specialty vehicles were on display in White Rock. And yes, there weren't as many Buicks out as expected. I was a bit puzzled the Grand National Racing Association members weren't at the show with their Buicks. Although, this event did receive an e-mail campaign touting this event as the GNRA members' annual get together, none showed this year. Well, except for Geri and I, in my 1986 GN. Gurtz Singh had arrived, earlier than us, in his 10k kilometer 1987 GN and Rob Stariha was parked along-side Gurtz in his 1989 Pontiac TTA. Paul Paulsen, once again, saved us a spot next to his stunning Saturn Yellow 1972 GS. Not many other Buick owners there, other than the aforementioned.

    The time flew by, as there was was much to look over, and the day was drawing to a close with the announcement of the trophy presentation. Cleaning all the bug guts from the front grille must have paid off, as I was awarded with a first place trophy in Best 80's Original/Restored class, while Gurtz was presented with the third place trophy in the same class. I know, next year, we'll have a larger Buick contingent, as many of the people I've recently met, owning Buicks, will have their projects completed.

    Nando.
