Yeah last night i went to go investigate and sure enough the distributor was loose and sitting high. Just makes me think, Why?.
But I went to turn the engine and she wouldn't turn over as good as I wanted it to ,kind of hard so I stopped and I went on the internet and dang I seen that someone had asked someone else did they take the spark plugs out .dumb move by me but I don't know the reason why but anyways I took them out and it was the same resistance feeling but it would rotate. kind of felt like pressure like an air pressure inside of it so I started putting some lube down the cylinders kept on rotating a little by little then it just stopped and I don't want to force it because I Break Stuff.

Side note. Also I pulled a spark plug that look slimy and orange on the tip

I'm going to pull the heads to see what's up.

There is a G body on YouTube with 472 or a 500 killing the drag strip. When you use the edelbrock intake, will it still run AC.

Never had it on a car with a/c, just hot rod stuff. I'm sure the tech specs on those websites I posted will tell you.

I live on a street called Stafford and was thinking about just crossing out the ford in Stafford that's should tell you how I feel about Ford.

Those are my competition, I live for the days I line up at a stop light against a ford or a dodge.

Well for now, they all got me beat because all i got is nikes in this race .

Please don't take what I said the wrong way Buddy

I'm only a mostly street with a little strip, car guy so all I need is to go no faster than 11.50 in the QM and I can easily do that with a small block so if your Big Daddy Caddy is well thought out and executed I wouldn't have a chance against you.

If I did a Big Daddy Caddy I would need all kinds of safety equipment to be able to drive the dam thing at the strip because I would start with a 500 core that would end up as a 547! With good pistons and rods the low end would be "bullet proof", some head porting on the factory heads with an aluminum intake or possibly a set of the aluminum heads available and whatever that beast would be bolted in would make that car a rocket!(that is if in I could make it hook? Would have to spend even more $$ for suspension work!)

The above build is planned for a friend of mine(so I did a little pre-build research) that has a sweet IIRC 1981, Cadillac Hearse that has a 368 big block Cadillac in it that the 500 would be a direct swap into. He was considering getting a 1 ton Chevy truck frame to make it a big 4x4 with a 547 Big Daddy Caddy in it! Either way with that many cid it should easily move that big heavy Hearse, he had it weighed IIRC I think it weighed in @ 5,000 lbs. Its his Halloween toy that he drives once a year.:D

He might drive it more if it had 4 wheel drive? He could use it as his tow vehicle to Silver Lake Sand Dunes(I need to mention that to him) where he drives the 2 wheel drive Jeep Cherokee with a 580 HP sbc 383 I slapped together for him. If aluminum heads were available for the sbb 350 at that time he would of had a sbb 350 stroker in the Jeep because it would of been easier to sell him on that engine platform if parts like that were available at that time!

That's ok though because the sbc 383 can get him 10 to 20 ft in the air off a good hill at the Dunes so the sbc is doing ok. The thing has 18" of travel in the front and 24" of travel in the rear so landing from that high is like landing on a marshmallow, the suspension works really good. That thing is a blast to ride in!

Wow last time I was in the air "on purpose" was when I was about 19 my friend would take his pick up and jump a local dirt hill. I always felt like the truck was gonna snap in half lol

Pos had a broken connecting rod cap, 2 bent rods and pieces of the cam inside the oil pan...

As long as the block or crank isn't cracked you can still have the crank stroked to use BBC rods and the block bored for new pistons.

The factory rods were the weakest link on those Big Caddy engines, you really want to swap those out anyway for something good. Even if you don't stroke the crank, there are the Olds rods you can use.

    Or these are a direct fit aftermarket Cadillac rod;

Although a set of 7.100" BBC rods with some crankshaft offset grinding would be great but the above look to be budget friendly and rated for 800 HP! GL

    Is the block ok?

That's the biggest prob I see that the Engine flipped on the stand. Your looking at the bottom of the cylinder head where the connecting rod slammed on it making a hole.. The crank is done, looks like it collided with maybe a broken cam piece

Sorry typo. The bottom of the cylinder wall

Hard to see, are you saying there is a hole in the block? If so sorry to say but you'll probably want to scrap the hole mess.

I'm saying at the bottom of the cylinder wall there is 1.5 inch by .5 inch hole. Concentrate on the pic whenever you have time and follow the ridge on the cylinder wall. The piston is bronze in color, it's right around there
