Don't post much here.........but thought you all would get a kick out of this. I've never taken my 1970 Buick GSX Tribute car to the 1/4 mile track until this last Friday night. I have been to an 1/8 mile track here in Northern Indiana on occasion.........but my buddy wanted to see it run in the 1/4 mile..........so I went.

We only had about 1 hour at the track and only time for about 4-5 runs........it was fun even though it was very humid and hot, I had a full tank of gas since I thought I was going cruising on Saturday.......and I didn't have time to put my Wider slicks on.........just had to go with my 10 inch ET Streets.......was pretty hard to get good launches.

Anyways...........here are a few "Kills" at the track with my 455 engine GSX. I felt bad for the Chevelle 396 car...........he just didn't see it coming. First time this track had ever seen my car..........

Click on each for the videos..........they each have volume too.

what type of suspension do you have....what set up.... bushings, shocks and springs...?

Mine is scary at speed....wadles... I have new KYB gas adjust shocks, I assume it has stock springs as I have never replaced them. I did replace the old rubber bushings with new rubber bushings when I bought the car about 12-13 years ago.... I also replaced the front sway bar with a nice hotchkis hollow bar and at the same I put on the KYB's..... lets say, 2-3 years ago.

It's not the "sway" that concerns me, in a turn it handles decent, it's just very wobbley... if that's a word.... when it hits any bump.

My 65 El Camino has the same shocks, but it has stiffer that stock new springs, a similar sized front and read sway bar and all poly bushings.... it handles amazing!!!

It's night and day car to car and lets face it, they are both very similar in size, weight, parts, etc....

I think the dude in the Chevelle was just checking your nice ride out instead of watching the tree.
    Really nice runs. Great car.

From the vids, looks like you had more fun than everyone else there. Thanks for sharing. It's always a pleasure to see/hear a nicely set up Buick run.:3gears: As for Chevelles...owners apparently think their popularity is based on their performance...
