There sure isn't much to pick from. Saw a thoroughly picked over 69 Wildcat with a good dash pad and a relatively unmolested 69 LeSabre with a 430 in running condition. Other than that, not much else. I've been scavenging boneyards since '85 for our cars. In the last two years the stuff has all but dried up - hardly worth the $2 entrance fee anymore, except of course for the occasional snapshot of someone else's girlfriend in a provocative pose - why do these always get left in the trunk???

    Brad:
We have many Pick and Pulls here in the Bay Area. When I bought my GS 12 years ago parts were plenitful.
Now they are almost impossible to find as you mentioned.
I live 5 miles from the one on Oakland Rd in San Jose. Used to be a real good place to find parts.
Guess I havent been as lucky to find the good pictures you do.
    Thx

No joke at all JW. Anywhere from 5-7 bucks around here. Thats IF they'll let you walk around. Most places ask what you want first, and they go and get it if they feel like it. No more trudging around in junk yards, just "Wait at the counter".

and if you want to keep the snapshots they charge $2 more:ball:

  7. I have to write a $35 check to get the key to the "old cars" yard here in Fargo. It is unsupervised, so if someone really wanted to, they could walk out with extra parts, and not tell the owner. There's next to nothing to be found there for 68-72 models. I get my check back if I don't find anything, but on the other hand, the minimum purchase price is $35.... so I'm shopping for a $35 bb fan shroud in the spring.

Yup..I agree with Al...I only know of a few yards around here that allow you to walk around. I'm still looking for 2 doors for my car, its all about imposible in NJ, most of these cars a crushed as they roll in :(

In Northern Cal the only yards with our cars are Pick N Pulls where you pull your own parts for a $2 entry fee. Yes you walk freely also.
    Not much these days though.

The yards around here are free to get into and mostly cheap, but you need to stay on their good side. I made the mistake of leaving the bumper of a D88 on the ground after I yanked the front end and he pitched a fit and said that he didn't want my business anymore because "I made a mess." So I go back there, and some guy has yanked everything off of the motor and tossed it on the ground. Yeah, not I, but I'm the one that picks off of the car. :af: There's one here that I looked in, but couldn't understand the guy(I can't speak redneck very well), so I didn't pick. There's some D88's tho, so I may go back for some stuff...

D88 are more common than a park avenue...(it was the most expensive RWD Buick) And the rear bumper is'nt the same than on a LeSabre.

I have a ding on the rear bumper.. made by the trailer jack stand.. it was perfect before this ding:af: :af: :af: at least 350$ rechrome it...
