My Son in Law, a recent "BUICK" owner, '69 GS 400 Convertable, called and asked me to look at a car he heard about in the Hamptons where he lives. Here's how we "STOLE" this car. A non BUICK guy was working on an old Ladies house when he had to go into the garage for something. In the garage he came accross a 1969 Skylark Custom convertable that had been parked in there for quite a few years. She and her decised husband bought it locally.....brand new. The guy buys the car to give to his son, son doesn't like it , so it sits in the guys yard for the winter. [ He had it flat bedded to his house because it didn't have a battery,he didn't think it would start.] He gets disgusted and puts it on "Swap & Shop" for sale. Swap & Shop announces what you want to sell on a small radio station in the Hamptons. My Son in Law hears the ad and is the first one to see the car. He gives the guy $25 to hold the car so I can come and check it out. The next day I arrive with a fresh battery, car starts right-up, add a little tranny fluid, top off the anti-freeze and I'm flying down the road at 60 mph in a ........... TIGHT AS CAN BE, ONE OWNER, WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL PAPERWORK "1969 SKYLARK CUSTOM CONVERTABLE" SOLID DRIVER, for the rediculous sum of $1,500. That's what I said...........FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!! Car runs new, needs a couple of cheap bumpers and a good clean-up.........."we'll see ya' at the BEACH this summer"!!!!!!!!! Timeing is everything.............."GLAD WE STOLE THIS ONE" :Brow: :eek2: Check it out......................ou: ou: ou: ou:
WHAT DO YOU THINK...............DID WE STEEL IT ?????????????
ohhh.....MAN! you can't hang quarters on those for what you bought that for! Those people are FOOLS. Great score.:TU:
Hey heard that ad on the radio, glad it was someone on this board that beat me to it. I don;t need to be buying anymore cars anyway. Good luck with it.
