Did it take the radiator as well as the shroud out ?
Waterpump pulley looks rough. Also looks warped/dented from the explosion or resulting mess.

Any particular reason it would grenade like that?

Best of luck on the repairs....Jim

Hate this. It's like you don't have other stuff on the car to fiddle around with then this happens and takes away your time and money...

The next pulley you get, make sure its a one piece pulley. The nose on that pulley is welded on at the factory, but a one piece its much better and lighter.Bruno.

What's the history of the engine/car? Has it ever been punched in the nose? Better start hitting the water pump bolts with pb blaster.

I had this very same thing happen to me in a 91 Silverado I had back in the day. Me and Taulb were in the backside of nowhere Kentucky. Felt a thud then a vibration, pulled over and the fan was as close to the radiator as you can get without touching. Water pump let loose. Hiked to a nearby town and bought a water pump and $20 toolkit, were back on the road 40 minutes later. Remember, breakage is a great excuse for upgrade, might as well get a nice TA water pump now!

Ugh! Same here, radiator was saved. One fan blade completely shear off and still stayed on the engine compartment.

Is that TA pump really worth the extra $150 vs. an AC Delco?

Also, thinking I should just get a new fan clutch too?

I'd pass on the ta pump. It is superior to a a stock replacement but the stock unit is more than adequate for the job.

Take a good look at the fan blade itself as well. It may be bent after hitting the shroud.

Ya, one blade sheared completely off. I have a new respect for the fan speed.

The car runs pretty good with temp. I’ll just get a “regular” pump.

What’s this i hear about not running a fan clutch? Thoughts?

On the bright side, It didn't get your hood.
That could've been a lot worse.

Will you have it back together before Sept 22nd?
