Hi all! My name is Rachel :) I am 33 years old (mother of 5 humans and best friend of 3 house cats). Growing up, my mum owned a beautiful 1967 Buick Electra 225 - that had been modified, as it used to be a police cruiser. I grew up in that car (literally; we went across country from Maine-California and back a total of 6 times) and when we went through stints of homelessness, we would live in our Buick for months at a time. I have zero negative memories in that car; despite the fact that it exploded at one point, with us in it - catching on fire and everything (Catalytic Converter was defective on some cars born that year - ours was one of the lucky few). Anyhow, long story short - when I was 13 my mom sold it - much to my complete and utter devastation (this car had a soul guys, I swear to it).

I've been looking for him ever since; even attempted to obtain the VIN from the DMV... but they don't keep records that long. Anyhow, long story a little shorter (lol) - I started looking for a car as close to mine as I could find in my adulthood and FINALLY after well over a decade of looking, was able to find one... 4 door, same year, same make/model, hardtop - and best of all in my price range! My new car arrives at the end of next week (already purchased him, and shipping company picks up this Tuesday). I'm over the moon and intend to attempt to fully restore this car myself. I've worked on cars (VERY little... oil changes, tires, spark plugs/wires, replaced an alternator once) but purchased the Chilton for my car and there is a do-it-yourself bay rental location near me if I'm in need of a lift. Very happy, and looking to learn as much as I can!

    Sorry for the long-winded post.

Welcome to V-8 Buick! What a great way to reconnect you with your past. Post some pictures of your car when you get a chance.
There are lots of helpful folks on this site who can offer their expertise. I've had a '67 Electra for a couple of years now and I can vouch for them being great cars!

There were some pinnacle years for Electra’s and 67 was certainly one of them.

WELCOME!!! Thanks for sharing your Buick roots... I'm told I came home from the hospital in new 1967 Buick convertible; maybe that's where I got my tastes from. ;)
