We all need prayers and also need to pray, not just in the bad times, but more importantly in the good times. Prayers of Thanksgiving, when there is no black cloud in sight, for His amazing, saving grace. My prayer is that we do not ever look at the Lord as a reset button or a get out of jail free card. The creator of all things seen and unseen deserves more than this. He asks for only one thing in return. Our lives, lived for His namesake and not solely for our own greedy enjoyment. If I would ask anyone to pray anything for me it would be for us (me) to be able to turn over a little more each day to Him, to let go of more of this life every day so I can focus on living more for Him and less for me. After all, it is all His anyway and we are here today and gone tomorrow. Everything in this life, here today, gone tomorrow. Like a vapor. Why do we sometimes put so much focus on the temporal and little to no focus on the eternal? The only way to get past this way of thinking is through sincere prayer. Only the Holy Spirit can remove the blinders so we can see this in our hearts for certain. This is my prayer for everyone, whether you want it or not. :beer

Lee, I don't mean to "deviate" from the thread's intended purpose at all, but I just realized after all this time what your user ID says. This also confirms how pitifully slow I am. :error:

It took a while but I found this thread and brought it back. Is everyone OK here? Maybe it's just the severe weather that is preventing us from posting?

My thoughts and prayers are with you all....

Prayin for Richie. Haven't heard from him in a little bit either. Hope all is well.

I do read, and pray for the request, even though I don't post every time. I'll bet there are others that do the same. So even if responses are low, the prayers are powerful.

I have done a little thing I call 100 or less. Its 100 or less words of inspiration/motivation. This was this past weeks.

Happiness, where does it come from? Easy formula, be yourself. Hard part is, ALL of society with few blessed exceptions say what/who you are isn't what it should be. Too fat, too skinny, bigger house, newer car, wrong food, no sugar, no this, no that...... Surround yourself with those that will support you for being YOU. Hard to find but they are there, and return the favor for someone. Nobody's perfect, my plan doesn't match yours, but I will be happy and support you toward yours. Happiness comes from within, so like who you are and what you do. And be awesome at it!

Thanks Mark! I appreciate it.I am still around but not as much since I let my car go.Sold off pretty much all my parts except one small block 300 which is going in a cub cadet garden tractor(I will need prayer if this happens). Our church use some prayer as we try to find a new pastor. Our pastor had to leave the church here and move to take care of his in laws as they are getting up in age and there are no other family members that could do it.God worked it all out and he is doing good. This left a hole that needs to be filled by the right person.I appreciate all who keep this going.Actually it would be cool to have some of your 100 words or less inspirations posted here. That was great.Have a blessed week everyone.:TU:

Glad to hear you are doing well Richie!

Mark - Keep those 100 or less coming. Those are pretty cool for sure.

The power of prayer is definitely huge. And it is funny how some things work is myserious ways. And sometimes very subtle. This is kind of off topic but I thought this may be a good place to share.

My Mom was attending a funeral on Friday for a member of my Step Dad's family. It was an Uncle of his that was on up in age and his health had been gradually going down hill for years now. So it wasn't something all of a sudden, it was an expected event just a matter of time. Anyhow, the funeral was being held at a large Luteran Chruch. My Mom said it was a very nice church. The Pastor she said was a little out of the ordinary but very good, as she said she had never seen a Pastor who more gold earrings in both ears. He was in the middle of the service and was sharing a story with the crowd when all of a sudden the sound of the General Lee as my Mom described it started playing very loudly. I am unsure if it was the Dixie Horn or the song the Good Ole Boys that was actually playing. It was a young ladies alarm on her phone, as anyone with a smartphone knows even if you Silence your phone the alarms will still sound if you have it set for a time of day. Needless to say the entire crowd began to chuckle. The Pastor tried to continue but could not without laughing and then says "I'm waiting for the General Lee to come flying through at any moment". Which ofcourse causes the crowd to burst into laughter.

It's always funny and amazing to me that in a time of greif and sorrow, it seems the Lord finds a way to bring a moment of joy and laughter to even the dimmist of situations. It kind of breaks the tension and allows people to feel more comfortable.

    Sunday morning, 11:30 am...

I've been thinking about the rough patches I have been through and the support I have found here.

Things are looking better for me every day.

I just wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude, I hope that you are all doing well too.
