Finally installed a new water pump on the 70 4 speed car today. Also installed two NOS GM belts I got from Dave Johnson. Dave told me that he would sell them to me only if I used them. I fulfilled my promise today. They look great!

As an aside, I should of put some pipe joint compound on the long bolts before I put them in, but I brain farted and just covered them in anti sieze. Hopefully they don't leak

The best laid plans...my plans yesterday didn't work out because of rain. Took my Camry to the dealer to rotate the tires and change the oil, because it's easier. I did get the sunshade in the Camry, and it's a nifty piece. It's a Shade Styx shade I got off Amazon. Worthless for our cars, but GREAT for new cars. Took like 15 mins to install, it secures to the baby seat tethers, it leaves no holes. It's a really nice piece. Fixed the rattling Subie cat shields today. Pumped up the mini spare in it. Tuesday, I'm going back to work on the GS's.

I'm a bit late in responding to the thread, but it was a busy weekend overall. The important part was spending Saturday up at Stage 1 Auto to prep my '65 for the Buick race in NC next week. I wanted to wake her up nicely after her long winter nap, and had several things on the laundry list. Re-torqued the heads, changed the header gaskets, swapped in some smaller jets, filled her with C-12, charged the battery, changed the oil and cleaned out the System-1 (which were both beautiful), and Rob welded a cracked tab that holds the steering rack in place. Didn't notice that at the end of last season but it was a brand new rack we just installed last summer. (The old one "only" lasted 23 years). Might have cracked the tab as the rack settled into it's new environment, which is to say...doing wheelies. I'll be keeping an eye on that going forward. When we were done I pre-lubed the motor with the MasterLube, gave her two pumps on the gas pedal, cracked the throttle a hair while I cranked her over, and VROOOM! She fired right up. Let her run for a few minutes during which I tested the line-lock and trans-brake, and then drove her into the trailer. If the weather cooperates I'm taking her down to Englishtown on Wednesday night for a couple of test & tune passes, and heading down to Piedmont, NC on Tuesday afternoon. Nice to feel the vibration and hear the deafening blast of my favorite beast!! It's been awhile.
