Hi All, My mom has two nieces living in Lebanon, working as health care providers under a contract. Just last week, their employers fled to Syria, and took the girls' passports with them, leaving my mom's nieces practically stranded. She hasn't been able to get a hold of them for over a week now... and what's worse, is that last time she talked to them, the bombing was getting very close. I'd appreciate your prayers on this matter. I am sure many of you are praying for the conflict as it is. This matter simply brings it much closer to home.

They are/were in Beirut. They are actually citizens of the Philippines, so I would hope that they would know where the Filipino embassy is. Hi Glen, If they are in Beirut, they are probably 100% safe. Problem is that phone cards are getting very expensive and difficult to find. The Filipino community are very close, and I am sure they are taking care of each others. Do you, or your mom have any phone # from where your nieces called from before, and what's their names, pass port # etc, I can try to call the Phil. Embassy & ask if they have reported to them. Many, many thanks go out to Per, who is doing what he can to get in contact with my cousins. He assures me that the area in which my cousins are in has not been bombed, and that is news we are glad to hear! :TU: Per and I just spoke on the phone, and I cannot thank him enough... what an excellent fellow! Again, everyone, I thank you for your thoughts and prayers. This Buick community is certainly a blessing... in more ways than one.
Again, I have to express my deepest thanks to Per. He was able to get in contact with one of my cousins, and is being a *huge* help to her. Words cannot express my family's gratitude! She is safe and sound, and we have been able to have contact with her, as well. At the moment, my other cousin is in Syria, but is missing. Finding her and having contact with her is our biggest concern right now, yet Per is still able to help. Again, thank you for your prayers, everyone. Personally, I believe that Per has been an answer to those prayers. Let's hope that things settle down over there soon, so that his Riv can get back on the streets again.
