Well, I KNOW mine are SOMEWHERE but might take me years to find so I am sure someone has some “Jensen Triax” or plain “Jensen”grills (singles are okay) or rough grills & speakers. Yes, I know the Jensen company was sold over and over after the founder Peter Jensen passed away and the speakers suffered for it but it is what I thought was the cats meow back in the day so they are going in the speaker deck of this heap of a car. Maybe if they are loud enough I won’t hear the car rusting! Please private message me what you have rather than posting on the thread if you don’t mind. Or send pics to 1960josephine401@gmail.com Thank you in advance. Fritzenjammin out
Back in the day I had a Jensen AM/FM cassette deck in my 75 Scirocco with a Clarion amp, Jensen 6x9 coaxials in the rear deck and Jensen Triax separates up front. It was, by far, the best sounding stereo I ever had in a car.
I hear ya (literally!) Mike! I had nearly the same system except the addition of an Audiovox graphic equalizer (ohhhhh yes! : ) Gotta have old school jams with my old school rude crusty X with the Judas Priest tach!!!heh heh
The Clarion amp had a built-in graphic equalizer so our systems were even closer to being the same. Ted Nugent, Kiss, Aerosmith, AC/DC, etc. blasting at mega DB's!
My older brother’s first car was a bright orange ‘73 Vega GT 4speed. (Said ‘Millionth Vega’ on the door handle!). Not sure who made the 8 track tape deck but it ran through a 40 watt equalizer (at least seven channel, maybe more)/power booster and Jensen Triaxes in the rear side panels. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett, Van Halen, Blackfoot, Triumph, The Nuge, Rossington Collins, Mothers Finest and Pink Floyd are some of the ones I remember. Patrick
Oh John... I'm going to piss you off. I have some Jenson Triax speakers in the back of my car hooked up to an age appropriate Jenson 200 watt amp, connected to one of the first Alpine AM / FM, CD players. I'll trade you my speakers and grills if you can get me a new pair of "Kraco" duel cone 6 X9 speakers. Yes, they always smoked and burned up playing Aerosmith, but they sounded soooo good just before they smoked.
The good old days ! Shows our age when a six pack referred to the shape we were in and not what we drink after work nowadays.
