I am looking for a nice 1970 GS 455 TH 400 with 8,2 rear driveshaft.
not the 71-72 with the 8,5 is not the same.

    Thanks

The 71-72 will be shorter due to the different rearend.

I probably have one, if you can come up with the length, from the center of the front u-joint to the center of the rear one. I'm in the middle of moving my parts and my interchange book is packed away "somewhere". Thanks, Bob.

The GS T-400 center to center length for '70 is 55.10" and for '71 is 54.241. I got this info from '70 & '71 Assembly Manuals.

Is that the two piece shaft?

No. It should be a 1-piece shaft.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Would a '69 shaft be an option?

I will dig them out of my crawl space and take some side by side pictures and measurements. My wife and I might take a road trip your way in the next two weeks. How soon you need it and are you willing to drive somewhere near Detroit area / I-75?

One on left is out of a 70 GS455 burgundy convertible an the other is out of a bamboo 70 GS455 hardtop, both cars had been off the road a long time before I parted them out. They appear identicle. We'll figure a price for both as soon as you tell me if they can be delivered.

Update. Both driveshafts will go to the scrapper. Thanks
