See the link in the above post, I just added it. Just so everyone is clear, it is a different Chris that bought the car from David, not me. :beer

Dave, he added them to the car, although I haven't seen the build sheet yet.
It's possible that they were on the car before it was repainted. To say I'm psyched is an understatement. :TU: I have Gramlow's big brother car!!! :3gears:

    stripes

Dave, Sorry...I did add them to the car after I got it. I am not sure if you could tell from the build sheet or not as they were a dealer add on. This set of stripes were of better quality than the one I put on my last 68 GS400. I did not mean to hijack this thread..... Kelly here is a car on e-bay now that looks good ....maybe it's time for a blue one....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=4648621024&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

Nice car, I was drooling over it when I saw it on ebay :TU:

At least the stripes were put on correctly, note that the top stripe is missing between the front wheel well and the "fender vent"... That is correct :TU:
The stripe kits being sold on ebay do not have the correct stripe width or spacing.

Dave R, the stripes could also be factory ordered, a no-charge option.

Almost all of the GM promotional photos of '68 GS's show cars with the stripe but yet it was not a very popular option  I still may add a set to my '68 just to see how they look...

    Here is a factory photo...

Mike, other than the stripes, that photo is EXACTLY what my brother's 68 looked like, white with Parchment vinyl roof.

Was that the 4-speed car that I bought the trans from? If so that would have been an awesome combo. You probably would never guess that such a nice, clean, pristine looking car would have a 4-speed and a big gear in it. :3gears:

Yep, that was the car that Muncie came out of. Are you using it yet? I want it back... I'm planning on restoring the old wreck. :error:

Okay stop posting that picture. :ball:

Not using it yet although it may be about time. The Saginaw is holding up okay but it's starting to make alot of noise. The problem is when I put that M-21 in I also need to step up to a larger rear gear. The 2.20 first gear ratio won't be liking the 2.93 gear I have right now. I've been keeping my eyes open for a 3.64 or so even if I have to use a spacer.

Yeah, I never did really care for the 1st gear ratio in that thing, putzing around town anyway. My brother told me he used to run it up to 75mph before shifting when he'd race it.

I think the picture is kind of a therapeutic thing for me, being it was my fault, mostly... :ball:
