Find it interesting to see if any one has run a factory stage 1 cam at the strip or on the dyno and what the combo was
funny, as I 'm sure some have used it, I plan to use it, or its replacement https://autoplicity.com/7454608-federal-mogul-cs-1165r-performance with 3,08 gears and OD trans, a big cam/lo compression, will make the car very sluggish . so to enjoy driving it, I'll keep the cam small , besides , a 10 bolt, and 2004r, are NOT exactly race car material.
Jim Weise did a stroked 430 (448CID) with Stage2SE heads, using a roller cam that was very close to the Stage1 cam. It used a Throttle Body Fuel injection unit and it made 509HP/540TQ. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/new-buildup-448ci-stg-2-se-hyd-roller-an-mpg-motor.252771/
Well I just got short block mocked up and my compression is going to be 9.64 and I want a good cruser that will go high 12's . The heads are getting flowed right now to see how well I did with the porting and valve job. And as the wizard said if the head flow is good I can run a smaller cam and still get good results. I want something easy to tune ,drive and race . The intake is a 73 and gitting ported and divider dropped and made to look like the performer I hope to have a good running at least the factory spec of 510 torque engine .
