phil, the guys were jay vanous (martian on this board) and rusty wilbanks. really old school buick guys. jay is helping me with the build-up of the next motor. i'm really cashing in on all their hours and hours of time researching these engines. it'll be something to see the "ole white car" at temple again! let's keep our fingers crossed.
hi cliff, things are steadily creeping along here. the truck is running consistant 7.8's in the 1/8 mile. that should compute to about a 12.30's in the 1/4 (supposed to have 1/4 mile sensors working this weekend). sure wish you could see it. we haven't got the white car in the shop yet, but maybe in a week or so. i can't wait. good to hear from ya bud, keep in touch.
Glad to hear your having good progress with the truck. What ever happened with the yellow 65 you talked about?
Phil, I still get your e-mails about the Austin Area Buicks but I've been out of pocket the past 3 months. I was promoted to Sergeant and have moved to Odessa. I'm out here by myself right now. I haven't moved the family yet. I'm waiting to see if something will open up closer to home. I really enjoy the extra time I have now. The only thing is I'm 5-6 hours away from every one. ou: Hopefully something will open up soon and I can start making more events. :TU: Do you know of anyone out this way?
Does Rusty and Jay still have the 72 Stage 1 around they need to get both Cars out. Love that old 67 of theres. They rebuilt the motor in my 70 back around 1986 or 1987.
yes, the stage 1 is still in the garage as well. from what i understand it's been pampered, but not driven. i've gotta fan some flames around here to get both cars back out and about again :beer
David, work on them for us I would really like to meet these guys I have heard a some good stories about that 67.
actually, the white '67 is jay and rusty's together. the stage 1 is just rusty's. thanks for posting the pics, that old car can really fool someone that hasn't seen it run before . i'll do my best to persuade the guys to jump back in with both feet. after all, this is a sickness that never goes completely away, just fades sometimes. i think once they hear those mickey thompson headers again, they'll get a renewed sickness, ha ha.
