I have been wondering what others have done to their wagons fuel tank to improve it, for performance. While there is nothing wrong with my stock tank. other than maybe needing some new hoses. I am wonder if it can handle the demands of more performance.

    Thanks

Going with a Spectra Premium (Re: Wagon fuel tank, what do you have?)

Hi Tim and Braggin' wagon fans,

I'm not trying to get more performance out of my wagon (beyond what my JW masterpiece engine will already give!! :3gears:) However, that engine has an EZ-EFI system, so I decided to go with a Spectra Premium replacement fuel tank that had a built-in EFI pump. I decided to do this to avoid the risk that the fuel pump would burn out because of insufficient cooling.

I did look at a number of custom tank makers. My interest was in getting an enlarged fuel tank because of my hope to use the car for vacation cruising. What outfits I talked to really wanted you to send them an old tank in so that they could take measurements off of that. That was way more hassle than i wanted to deal with, so I gave up.

However, not sure what a performance gas tank would be exactly. Perhaps there are custom performance tanks that don't require sending an original tank in for dimensions.

    Cheers, Edouard :beer
