I have been hunting down numbers on the buick and I'm stuck on this one, can't find them on the chart .I have 4 W7 code wheels. I have attached a pic of what they looked like when I got the car in 2004. I'd like to know if they are original to a 1972 GS350 and if they came body color matched like in the pic. Any other information would be great too. Thanks guys.

No Sir, no body colored rally wheels 70-72 always black in those areas.

I will need to look into the option code but there is half the question.

IMG_2751.JPG Well here is the factory code "N98" from one of my 72 Stage 1's but you are probably referring to the code stamped on the wheel

Fritz, correct the W7 code was stamped in the wheel near the valve stem. I'm going to get a Sloan report this Christmas then I'll be able to see what it was ordered with. Just fishing to see what I could learn from the wheel stamping .

Have you done a closing perimeter search for the factory paperwork?

I have check A pillars, to know that I should still check above gas tank, behind back seat, and under carpet.

I might even be more confused now, everything I'm reading about those super sports wheels are they are 14inch where the ones I have are 15inch. They have tires r15 on them right now.

    I "believe" in 1972 they were 15". 71's were 14"

I feel like mine look a lot like the 1970 super sport wheels but they are the size of the 72's. I will post some much better pictures when I get home on Sunday, some with the trim rings and the center caps which are the tall ribbed ones. I understand a lot could have happened in the 30 some odd years between it rolling off the lot and ending up in my driveway, but so far the only non original stuff on the car when I got it was a set of buckets and exhaust tips. I can see how this stuff is more of art than science lol.

I think those are regular Rally wheels painted body color. '72 Super Sport wheels look the same as '71 and should only have been 14 inch. They are stamped steel and have a different shape than a Rally wheel. he 1970 Super Sport wheels look like Rally wheels with a trim ring but again were only available in 14 inch diameter. Click on the last row of photos in the link below to see what '72 Super Sport wheels should look like.

Here are the pics as promised. I think they are rally wheels. Did those ever come with glamour rings? Also did they ever body paint them? Even the inside of where the center cap goes is orange. I scrapped some paint and it doesn't look chrome under there. I'm going to pull a tire off one and see what the inside looks like, chrome or not.

The wheel appears to be a 1973-75 Super Sport Wheel

they were 15 x 7 and were paint to match.

The wheel code "WS" should be stamped at the valve stem hole.

    Nice pics

Your "W7" is a bad stamping of "WZ"

The painted rally or styled wheel with the "WZ" is a 15 x 7 on the '76 & '77 Regal / Century with option PE2.

    The wheel was only offered in a 15 x 7 for the years 73 - 75 (WS) and 76 - 77 (WZ).

I thought it was kinda weird cause I didn't see any other letter number codes for other wheels. Crazy how all 4 are bad stampings. Must have been worn out stamp. I guess I am going to have to get the Sloan to see what the old girl had out the factory. Thanks again for all your help (everyone) and helping me figure this out. No money for parts right now so I have to entertain my buick itch by other means.
