Hey guys, I am in the process of building my 67 Skylark. It's rolling right now, I am in the process of doing the interior, but when it's done I am moving on to the motor. It's getting a 455 with a 400 transmission, that much I know, but I have a Vortech V-1 T Trim (from an LT1 car) sitting around that I keep looking at. I've seen the turbo BBB cars, and the procharged BBBs, but has anyone run a Vortech yet? I am looking for ideas :beer Will
Will, I run a Vortech V-7 YSI on my BBB. No issue other than running the oil supply and return lines. Pretty easy for me a I was getting a new custom pan for the project. Anyways, we shut it down at 1017hp in fear of splitting the block....so you can make good power w/ vortech on a BBB. Regards,
I think we all end up making or buying custom brackets. Seems to be the favorite pastime of all of us. I started out with a free Procharger. Most expensive present ever!
That's kinda what I was thinking, I didn't figure there would be anything out there for a BBB from Vortech.
The Brackets on Jim's V7 are from the standard BBC kit, but an adapter plate is then fabbed up for mounting the brackets to the BBB head. Jim's is steel, it's the red one shown in the pic here.. And then the BBC kit brackets bolt to it.. JW
