My 71 Riv's dash plate VIN is either missing or so rusted it can't be read. I do have a title with the VIN that matches the door sticker and the engine number, but I'd like a little more proof it all matches... is the VIN stamped anywhere on the frame etc. that is visible or not a major project to reach? Thanks...
The number on the body tag has no relation to the VIN. In 1971 the sequential part of the VIN for Rivieras (last 6 digits of the VIN) ranged from 900001 to 933826. As you can see from the attached pictures from the same car the VIN ends in 914730, but the body number is 111918.
