I've never talked to this guy, but I've seen the car running around from time to time and looks super nice. He's steep on the price especially for no A/C, etc., but looks like it's got the right stuff done like the overdrive. https://missoula.craigslist.org/cto/d/buick-riviera-1963/6703628980.html
I was thinking it was an interesting color combination which it is, but the way it is worded, I'm not thinking it was the original combination. Very sharp Riv.
I was curious as to the color so texted him and asked if the blue was the original color - he said, "who is this? I replied someone interested in your Riv. He said "it's not for sale. I said, well it's on CL for sale with your number. (OOPS, wonder if the wife posted it LOL)
He texted back again and said his riv is not for sale, number in the add is wrong. Odd, that the guys phone number given just happens to have a Riv, what are the odds of that LOL Something smells like Red Tide in Florida
IIRC Buick had recommended, allowable, and unallowed combinations. My first thought was this combo falls in the latter category. I've seen a lot of marlin blue 63 Riv's over the years, but never this combo.
I have always been drawn to oddball colored cars although I have only ever owned one that was a “not allowed” combo until my latest Reatta. I tried really hard to land a fantastic oddball about ten years ago, a 67 Sportwagon, no Woodgrain, loaded to the gills, auqunnarine lower, white roof and the dark red interior. That has since been an “I wish I woulda”
