Hi! Trying to find the original trunklid emblem. The car was sold by Vern Parsell,Flint. Hard to find I suppose?
Someone had a thread about dealership emblems, and it had a link to a site. Maybe you could do a search and find the thread. Duane
...very hard to find, emblems more so than tag frames. Emblems evolved from chrome-plated pot metal to plastic, to stick-on labels. Long considered dealer advertising, most deteriorated or purposely removed over time. Most successful finds take years...
Thanks for input. Talked just today with a company about making the emblem in 3D. The final product is gonna be extremly expensive so that is no option. Would be very nice to have that emblem on the trunklid. Chatarina 1968 GS400 Convertible.
Mine isn't worth putting on - too pitted, missing the "V". I live in the Flint, Michigan area and I see Buicks at car shows with that emblem quite often. What I could do is put the word out to try and find you an emblem in better condition. I might possibly put something on the want ads on the Flint area Craigs List for you.
My first car (71 limemist Skylark) came from Vern Parsell Buick - I've been hunting for years for the same emblem you're after Chatarina, good luck in your search!
I seen a Buick for sale the other day, Craigslist maybe, that had a Vern Parsell tag on it. In another note my dad was a mechanic at Vern Parsell’s for a short time back in the mid sixties.
The first owner worked at the Flint Plant and we are trying to restore the car to factory specs. And to honor a man that gave 39 years of his life to Buick. Thanks everybody for your help. Best Regards Chatarina, 1968 GS400 Conv.
