I need some new valve covers for my 350. Ideally they would be a pair of chrome covers that match the stock units. I see several on eBay that all looked the same to me except for the prices. Are these any good? Could I drill a hole and install the PCV valve in the stock locations? Are there any other cast covers like the TA Performance unit? I have mixed feelings about them. Thanks for any recommendations. Lou
If you got lucky and found old poston or kenne bell cast aluminum. Spectre has cheap chrome stamped steel. pcv goes in intake manifold. Breather in valve cover.
Can either have your originals chromed, or paint them with wrinkle black like the T/A & other aluminum covers and save some $$.
Thanks, Mart. I thought about having mine chromed, I wonder how expensive. I think I will get some black wrinkle paint and see what it looks like. Lou
I have bought this Chrome covers http://www.ebay.com/itm/401205025876?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT the covers wasn't straight and the bolt holes not 100% correct, after 1 hour trying to get all bolts in i ordered TA Covers
You can still buy the Poston covers for next to nothing, Cars Inc and another fella has ll the old stock, got a pair for a 455 few weeks ago for $89
Thanks, CARS has them for about $175 plus shipping. I didn't see any on eBay today but maybe some will show up. Where did you get yours at? Lou
Ronald Hass 1800 525 5224. $80 for 350 and $95 for 400/455 or 970 297 7100, I would post the link but I don't know how
Ronald Hass http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/NewBuickValveCovers.htm I bought mine from him couple years back, didn't come with hardware, but I went to ace and picked up some SS cap headed bolts and bought new gaskets from napa, and lastly drilled a hole in the each cover for vents Josh
I hears from Roland today. He will have some 350 valve covers in about 4 weeks. Found a set on eBay - even higher than CARS. Lou
Had Postons, had to mill gasket surface flat, they didn't contain the gasket with a recess. They look real nice though. Good price too. I'll stick to my double gasketed stockers.
