I just got new set of fel-pro valve cover gaskets for 70 Gs. I have a 73ā€™ 455 which is in the car currently

The valve cover gaskets I got are too wide for the slots in the valve covers. They are a cork type gasket. Anyone ever run into this before?

No one has any input on this? Here is some pictures to show what Iā€™m running into.

Assuming they are the right gaskets and they line up somewhat...the tabs for the valve covers are usually cut in like maybe 3/16" on each tab, on the side of the tab. They are like perforated to hold the gasket to the cover. Geez' I don't know if you can follow what I'm saying! Like each tab is like a "T". In any event, the tabs are only to hold the position of the gasket to the cover. Some people cut them off.

Frank is correct. They'll fit just fine.
