I received word this evening, that the Pastor of the Church I attend suffered a stroke today. not known how severe it was. please pray that he will have a speedy recovery, and that our small congregation will stay strong thru this trying time, also remember his family in prayer too. ray: ray: ray:
Father - I do pray that this pastor would recover fully with no long term ill effects. We speak strength to him and to his body. We speak your Word over this situation and say that no weapon formed against him will prosper. Lord I pray that this congregation would be driven together and would be of one mind and one spirit in unity of heart and purpose. And Father I pray for his family, that you would send your Holy Spirit to comfort them, give them the peace that passes all understanding (as you said you would) and I ask that you would give them a special gift of faith that would rise up big inside them to meet this time of trial. We ask it in the name of your Son Jesus - Amen.
thanks. God is the great physician, I know He will be with out small congregation as we continue to serve Him
from what I've heard today, so far,it has only affected his speech, unable to talk.not sure what else may be affected. I know our congregation will be in His hands during this time thanks to everyone for the prayers.
You have my prayers as well I will be going to Church tommorow night and will think about him as we pray for the sick.
Jeff, I'm not much on religion, but I will be thinking of your pastor and his family, and wishing for the best. Stroke damage can be difficult to properly and fully diagnose at first. There's the possibility that the damage can be more severe than initially diagnosed. Speech impediment is not a very good sign, depending on where the damage in his brain is. Much will depend on how quickly he was taken to hospital, and how quickly the clot busting drugs were administered to him. Does he have any movement in his arms and legs?? If one side is partially or fully paralyzed, then the opposite side of his brain is affected. ie: right side paralysis means left brain has suffered damage. The good news is varying degrees of recovery are possible, depending on what areas of the brain were affected. I know an accountant who is virtually fully recovered from a stroke. I just went through all this last May with my dad.
I'm not sure how fast he was treated, I was told he was at his blind son's apartment when it happened.I've been told it was a "minor" one, main thing is he can't talk at all as of now. I don't think he's had any paralysis. hopefully I'll hear an update on his condition at Church sunday thanks for the prayers everyone!!
at a prayer service held this morning for him, we were told that his motor skills were very good, is able to speak some(was even joking some with the nurses) he will be needing surgery on his carotid artery in the next 4 or 6 weeks. so, it does seem his prognosis is very good. Praise God!!
