    Bob,

Im glad you understand the situation.

Now, my Buddy that is to inspect the car will come to your location if needed. He thought it would be nice if you could meet him part way, but if not, He will come to your location. I know you had offered to meet him with the car in a easy to find spot in San Jose when you 1st recomended I have him inspect before coming down to buy.

Sounds like the car is hard to get at now. Let me know if and when he can meet with you at the car location.

    Dennis,

It's price is definitely higher than your budget, but if you or your Dad are interested, there is one for sale in Texas. It belongs to a board member, and I hope he doesn't mind me posting this pic. Send me a PM if interested and I will hook you two up.

My bittersweet mist 71 is originally a 455 as far as all evidence would tell, although it has a replacement 455/400 in it. Less than 50K miles on the OD, which I personally think is right.

The blue GS is originally a GS350, said to be one of the six GS350 3spd column shift cars. Now is a 455/4spd. As I assume you know, there were only 18 GS455 4spd converts and 9 GS Stage1 4spd converts originally made in 71. So if you're looking for a numbers matching big block 71GS Convert 4spd, you're searching for one of 27 made, and I'd have to guess only about ten are still existing. I have one being restored, which isn't a pretty story, but it is one of the 18 455s, green with green interior and top.

If the green one ever gets done, I'd like to put it in the St Patrick's day parade with the orange one down here in Jackson, MS. The two or three together in a parade would be very cool.

We can talk if you're interested in either one of them but I decided a while ago that I'm not going to give them away. Too hard to find if you want one back again.

The ebay car in the previous post has been on there several times. Didn't see and SCO on the trim plate, meaning the bucket seats are not original. Lots of spray can work, yet the guy says it's incredibly clean? Beware!

I just love the crappy tach in the console. My god if you are trying to get $27,000 for a car at least spend the money to put an correct looking aftermarket tach in there. Also why not spend the $400 bucks to get a body shop to fix the area behind the front right tire or at least not get the paint on the chrome.

If you are going to sell something special either don't fix it or fix it right. Doing it poorly will make people wonder about everthing.

I have to say I like the tastefully installed door and rear panel speakers better than the Pep Boys tach in the dash.

BTW, I bought the 190sl this afternoon. It's actually in pretty good shape, original with probably 1 repaint, an easy resto candidate. I guess that means no GS350 project for me now -- sorry!

Bob - PM me some pictures of the 190 project as you get into it. I got a guy coming this week to look at both the vert and the GS project. If he takes them I will give you a call on your vert.

Will do. I plan on getting it next weekend, although it has "free storage" inside the sellers garage until I have time to work on it!!! Or until he gets mad....

I'm working on a '72 Z28 right now. But you know, "Chevy's are easy"....

I never heard back after sending pics of the blue 71GS455 4spd convert several weeks ago. I assumed that you were out of the market or found something else.

Just wondering what you didn't like. Maybe it's too close to what you're getting for yourself. Pls PM me.

Yes, He is wanting a Big Block car.

I hope we can find him one, He is now looking at 442's as well. I would rather he get a nice Buick.

    Thanks for the reply.
