I had hood insulation that I bought ages ago for the GSX. Found out I should not cut around the tach but just cut an X for the wiring. The old insulation was a looser greenish gray material that was like packed fibers. Ordered new insulation from the parts place. It is a firmer style of insulation with yellow on the back. Is this correct ? If not where can I get the right insulation? thanks
The correct hood insulation for a 70-72 GS/GSX is gray on the side that faces outward with yellow insulation behind it. Also there is a hole in the center section of the insulation and it should be approximately 5" in diameter. There are a bunch of companies that make them with a much larger center hole, but they are correct for the 68-69 cars. That is why I made these sets up for years, so the guys that cared could get the right stuff. Duane
I will be doing another run of the 70-72 GS hood insulation and the correct 69 GS hood insulation soon. I will post a new thread up in a few weeks. Duane
I will if I remember. You know I have CRS disease, Can't Remember $hit. When you see the thread remind me, Duane
Please do not request hood insulation sets on this thread. Once I figure out how much they will cost I will start another thread and will list all the info I need to order them. Duane
If I answer that then everyone and his brother will start bugging me again. Look to the end of the summer for an answer.............and if people start bugging me about this, then I will not be back on this site until the end of the Summer. Duane
