Uncorked Headers

This really isnt much of a "kill", more of a ha ha i have more power kind of thing.

My friends muffler fell off of his car, and he comes up to me bragging that his car is so much louder than mine. He drives it around for about a week, until he finally gets pulled over by an officer.

Once he got his muffler back on, he is still bragging that his car was louder than mine. I brought him over to my house today, got him to help me uncork my headers.

Right when i put my key in the ignition, im sporting a huge smile on my face. He had no idea what he was about to hear.

Long story short, he is not going to be bragging about his "loud" car.

 

It must run better, because when I got home, I saw the two 12" wide tire marks for about 30' long

 

BUSTED!!! haha :laugh:

 

I guess this was the "kill" part of the story:laugh: :3gears: :spank:

 

I fired my 455 up yesterday with open M/T headers in the garage....my dog ran & hid on our bed & my wife closed the front door :laugh:

 

This is why I have electric cutouts. :laugh:

 

Man, when I did my x-haust (pun) and started it up with just TA-headers... Its something Ill never forget :eek2: (full auto-shotgun!) . Too bad its illegal here..

 

It does sound COOL doesn't it ?? Here's a run where I uncorked the exhaust from the headers. It was the first time I ever did this and it was LOUD inside the car :beers2:

So is it safe to run open headers? Meaning...it wont mess anything up right? Just might get in trouble with the fuzz o No:

 

The only thing it does is it can make the motor run leaner. :TU:

 

Cason, i just ordered the cam, lifters, and gaskets a couple days ago. It should come in next week, as well as the intake, carb and air cleaner. Also got my service manual a few days ago. :TU:

With the cut outs open in my truck it's way too loud to cruise around in. It's deafening. I can't imagine a souped up 455.

 

The only thing is....now im broke :laugh:

 

I would get an exaust system with the electric cutouts, but i know i would get in some trouble.:laugh:

You can go from a full exaust to open headers with the flip of an electronic switch.

Its really cool, but just asking for trouble.

I got pulled over for 53 in a 40 with my cut outs open. The cop didn't say anything about the exhaust and let me go with a warning for speeding. 2 days later I closed the cut outs and put on Super 44 and was cruising around town and got pulled over. The cops exact words were "...That THING'S pretty loud..." He let me go also.
