Just got my info from Wayne Roberts on a car we have had for a long time. It is just a shell. It had a BB serial number and frame pads but no other clues. Turns out it is a 70 Stage 1. It was sold to a dealer in Monroe, LA. The owner apperently had very bad taste. The car is Aqua Mist upper and lower with a burnished saddle bucket seat interior (this combo is not in the recommended or acceptable list in the dealer albumn) :jd: Also, for a car that was purchased in the south, it is a none air car. It appears from the invoice that the car was pre-sold. Hope the dealer got a huge deposit! (like the full purchase price)
I am still waiting for my microfiche info on my 70 Convertible. I do know it is every bit as ugly as yours though, Bamboo Cream, Sandalwood bench seat and Sandalwood top. Ugh. Aqua and brown is definately interesting!
Chris, You asked for it. Here are some pictures. It has been repainted at some point. I guess someone came to their senses and changed the color to gold and white. Still questioinable but not as bad. I figure that some time, some TLC, and a few thousand dollars, I can get it back up to being a really nice basket case. Looks like this one is going to just be another statistic.
So do you plan on a restoration? That is a really cool car, and I think the color combo could look very good. It is a similar situation to what they are doing nowadays where every color in the book you order comes with either a gray or tan interior. Cool car, thanks for posting the pictures!:beer PS, put the car in your signature so everyone knows what you've got when they strike up discussion with you! :TU:
Heck That looks better than what I started with. At least mine was blue with light tan top not a darker brown. I say Save it:TU:
Sell it to me. I am starting a wayward home for Stage 1 Buicks. They have to be "out to pasture" though!
Chris, if you are interested, I am open to selling it. I have no time to even think about starting it as a project. Would rather see it go to a good home than become a statistic. E-mail me if interested. rrrestoration@texramp.net
Bob, while we are at it how about pictures of the 70 GS455 convert basket case and the 70 GS350 parts cars? :Brow: :Brow:
Is that a really early car? I believe that the gold top was discontinued early in 70 and is quite rare.
