turbo questions

  1. I am in the procees of going turbo charged on my 300 engine. I have figured out i cant flip the exhaust manifolds because the drivers side will hit the cross member, looks like the sanderson headers would work if flipped but when i read the specs on the website it staed the primary tubes are 1 1/2 inch and are only good for aprox 300-350 hp. obviously they are talking naturally aspirated and i'm wondering if they will be capable of handling more than that in a turbocharged application

  3. thanks for the advice, i really dont want log style manifolds and i want to build the setup myself. i'm a detail freak and if I build it and it's not to my liking then i only have myself to criticize

yes the manifolds will support alot more than the 300-350, just for an example, my motor has stock manifolds and so do alot of people that have turbo ls motors...just the stock manifolds will support 1000rwhp when boosted, now if NA youd be hard pressed to hit 500

  5. Good to know.. I'm not shooting for 1000 hp but i do want a little kick from my 300 :Brow:

Usually with turbo headers guys like to keep the primaries the same I.D. as the exhaust ports so that the exhaust gasses don't loose velocity on their way to the turbo(s), then the downpipe(s) are as large as they can possibly be so there is the least amount of back pressure possible.

Thanks for the heads up on the manifolds BTY

you could do like the sts turbos and mount it toward where the collectors are or rear of car
