Thanks Larry! And to his credit, it was David who got me thinking differently about how to measure weights and project their net effect.
I will be reporting results of modifications in the near future. This covid 19 is impacting all of lives, changes our priorities.
Well, did some mods, here are results so far: Original : Outers - 44.33, 44.15 grams Inners - 11.26, 11.44 grams Modified: Outers - 42.82, 42.93 grams Inners - 10.25 each Pedal to the metal: 1-2nd shift at 4500 rpm, 2-3rd at 4800 rpm Light throttle shifts are happening about 10, 20 mph....really soon. I have one full turn left on the modulator. I’m going to leave it for now. Continue on weights. I have “one” lighter spring......using the lighter spring, what might I expect it to do for shift points?
The weights get you in the ball park of where you want to be. The springs fine tune, and move the 1-2 and 2-3 shift apart or closer together. Make ONE change at a time. Lighter weights and springs mean higher shift points. Perhaps the instructions from the B&M kit will help. https://documents.holley.com/20248.pdf
Thanks Larry. I’ll post my progress as I go. With the stock 350, I’m going for 5,000 rpm max , so not too far off.
