I have Global Entry for $100 which includes TSA PreCheck and my daughter has just the TSA PreCheck for $85.

If you only fly domestic, TSA PreCheck is all you need. I fly internationally often and that's where the Global Entry comes in handy, short line at passport control as well.

The Global Entry requires an interview with border patrol and it can take a while to schedule it. Some higher end credit cards will issue a credit for the Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.

Either is worth it if you fly often.

Had it for years now. Just had to renew it. For the extra couple of $ I would get the Global Entry. My daughter just got hers. Did her application on line, got an appointment, drove to the aiport for it and was done in no time. Don't have to take your shoes, belt off, nor do you have to take your lap tops/tablets out. Lines are much quicker.

We are Canadian and use it all the time crossing into the US. Even better for flying. Good example we landed at Chicago O'Hare from Cabo San Lucas. Had to be 300 people waiting to go through customs. Got to Global Entry. Five of us in line!!!

    This - exactly

I just renewed my passport and now I need to renew my Global Entry. Even though I've only used Global Entry once in five years, it was worth it that one time coming into LAX from Sydney. I fly enough that I couldn't imagine having the pre-check that comes with it.

We use it all the time to beat the long lines in the USA. It does not help you in other countries.

I love having it. Not having to go thru a colonoscopy just to sit in an airplane makes it an invaluable asset.

Coming to US like 3 to 4 times a year for business for some years already, I decided to apply for global entry 2 years ago. I had to have an interview in Frankfurt with german police and later, upon arrival in US an interview with an immigration officer. Worthwhile every effort, it can make the difference weather you catch your connetcting flight, or not. TSA pre is nice to have, although it effects me only on my homeleg to Germany, as in Frankfurt there is no Pre-check available.

Do it Briz! Totally worth it. I believe TSA treats you better if you have what I call a Fast Pass. Just be ready in line. They expect you to be a professional traveler. Don’t set off the alarm.

It has been almost 5 years since we obtained our pre-check status.

I dont fly often. Just booked my second flight of the year. probably flew 3 times last year. The TSA is always a pain in the ass and for some reason I get singled out 2-3 times. Have a appt on Weds in Tallahassee to do whatever it is they do. Says to bring my passport and state DL. Signed the wife up too.

    Fingerprint time.

The only sensitive questioning we received related to our past travel to Cuba.

It depends on the airport. Here at RSW about 75% of the time the speedy check (or whatever they call it) isn't open, so you have to wait in the long line anyway.
