Yes, we are almost finished!!! What do you think I should use for the trunk paint for a Burgandy Mist Outside, Black Interior and Black Top Car? I see YEARONE has a trunk spatter of Black/Gray-should I use that one? What would have been original? The Dark Green Aqua?? Or is the Black/Gray? It would make more sense to have the Black/Gray-I think. I want it original. Or, do you suggest any other paint bran other than from YEARONE? Our Clear Coat should be all right to spray over it or should I use their "Trunk Paint Top Coat Sealant"? Let me know. Will post photos after it is all done! THANKS! buick.jrjensen@gmail.com. I believe the original color depends on what factory your car was built at. Where was your car built?

    Personally I prefer the black/grey . That's what I went for my 68

Flint owners help out here, my car was built in Wilmington. I "think" the Flint cars were Dark Green (black?) with Aqua originally.

I think color depends on year. Zolatone I believe has the best trunk paint. Better than spray bombs.

According to the 1969 Ditzler paint chart the correct color as noted in the chart is Turquoise(Dark blue, gray fleck) code
    DX-1758. Gray would be incorrect.

You can also buy trunk paint much cheaper @ napa
I used a black under base, then the splatter paint
I did mines came out very nice.
As far as durability even thou i cleared mines it only lasts for about 2 yr's due to humidity, I live in FL lost of rain here....

I would like to see pic's anyone who's used Zolatone

It may but they did use different colors at different factories, I "believe" Fremont cars used the lighter gray. My Wilmington car has the original dark green/aqua and if I remember correctly my 68 Flint built GS had the same.

I need to get some spatter paint for my August 1968-built 1969 Flint GS. Is the correct color dark blue / gray or would it possibly have been dark green / aqua?

What did you guys use to "glue/seal" the oval bungs to the floor? I'm talking about that off-white thick sealant. Thanks, Mike

Any rattlecan stuff is junk. Won't look original. The Zolatone has to be applied just right. I bought a gallon of trunk paint from OPGI I believe. Then used a spray gun that is used for undercoating to shoot it with. Pleased with the outcome. I would say generally that GM used the gray /white splatter through 1968 and then went with aqua in 1969. Might not be specific enough for the various Buick plants.

Me thinks it is time to PM Duane, since I believe the 69 Motion car is also an early car.

Unfortunately, zolatone no longer makes the ZT-20-TS02 aqua
