Trim rings with dog dishes?

Yes, I glossed over that. By Nov 69, they discontinued F4 and F7 on the small blocks. But the July 31st 1970 bulletin makes no mention of a model. I took that as it was across the board

I suspect that the letter has a typo and should have have read F4 & V7, not F4 & F7 since the former would've both referred to Super Sport wheels and the latter would've both referred to G60-15 which we know were avail. in '71-72.

Somewhat unrelated and we've had several threads on this it may have been covered, but since I saw a Sloan Report today on a '70 showing Super Sport (V7) option with 14" tires, I'll ask: Was there also a 14" trim ring available?

There are (at least) 2 versions of the '70 order form and the Nov. 69 form shows F4 & F7 as being available only on GS 455 and F9 (G70-14 Wide Oval white lettered) only avail. on GS 350 and V7 on either. There are a few documented examples of F9 on earlier GS 455's (my Stage 1 came with them) and Mike Trom has an original window sticker listing them as SCO, but I'm sure of the rev. or window sticker dates, especially in relation to Service Bulletin/letter Jason posted.

@Mike Trom can probably shed some light here.

For what it's worth, I used to own a very late build (July if I remember correctly. I still have a copy of the build sheet at home) 1970 GS 455, Fremont build, that had the F4 option on the build sheet. When I got the car, there were a couple of hub caps and a trim ring in the trunk, though no wheels to be found.

Yes. Options F4 and F7 were discontinued early on for the GS, but continued to be available for the GS 455 models.

F4 and F7 were tire options. They Included the 15x7" plain steel (not the super sport) wheel with trim ring, and the 15x7" chrome wheel respectively. Option V7 was a wheel option which included the painted 14x6" Super Sport styled wheel with trim ring. V7 could be ordered with the standard tire, or with any optional 14" tire (F1, F2, F8, F9).

Paint them Argent, like on the 70, not silver, and here is trim ring and Dog's on my 72 with same Flame Orange body color, I didn't like it, makes it look fat and slow like a Olds Cutlass, but like in the second picture it looks good with the Argents without trim rings. All a matter of taste.
