I have a 69 Skylark trumphet gold with a white top, there is trim around the sides and across the bottom rear near the glass (not the window trim) do these pieces slide off once I get the side screw out or do the snap on

Vynal top trim snaps off once the end screws are removed. gently lift with a flat thin screw driver.

    Look like this.

Not sure about the 69, but the 70 will have a nut on each corner and one on each side, that are accessed from inside the trunk. You have to take the nut off, then you can pop the trim off the plastic holder tabs. Not sure if the 69 if different.

I check the trunk and there’s no access to the nuts that I could see; the trunk had a double wall under the trim. There are set screws on each corner so hopefully the rest will slide out as mentioned above.
    Thanks for the information

I got all the trim off and ordered what I think are the correct plastic fasteners from die cast muscle cars; it should be painted in a few weeks. Any tips on getting the trim back on as tight as it previously was installed, especially the piece across the bottom of the rear window. This piece is all rivets and clips no screws. So do it snap on the plastic retainers or slide on.
    Thanks

Put the clips on the rivets and push them to the side to lock them. Install trim. May have to use your palm to push (pop) them into the new clips.

I did this with my LeSabre....make sure to clean everything thoroughly, get all the grit and dust out. I used vasoline to coat all the plastic fasteners and I preinstalled them on the car. Then I was able to slide the steel molding like a belt through pant loops. My car did have the two nuts that held the items in place from under the trunk.
