Trying to figure out where the tranny cooler lines on a TH400 go for a 70 BBB.

Two pictures from two different books showing contradicting info. So which picture is correct?

Picture 1 is from the 70 Chassis (thick book) manual and picture 2 is from the 70 (thin 3 ring binder style) assembly manual.

Picture 1 has the top line of the tranny going to the top of the radiator. While Picture 2 has the top line connected to the bottom of the radiator. I tried to highlight so that I could follow the lines.

Upper connection at the transmission goes to the upper connection at the radiator. That's all you need to remember. I used push lok hose and ran it through the frame so I could keep it away from my headers.

On a crossflow radiator like in 1970, the top line is the return line. It exits the radiator at the top connection and enters the case at the top.

You won't gain or lose anything by changing the routing. If its a clean install move on and don't think twice about it.

This isnt fully true, by plumbing the outlet of the tranny to the top of the radiator, it is possable to introduce an airaited fluid back to tranny..........by plumbing into the bottom the cooler fills from the bottom and stays full. The other way the fluid can just fall through cooler in the radiator.
