My friend has a 79 Trans Am with leaf springs and missfit CE traction bars. After searching the web with every imaginable combination of words and phrases with no results, I came to my Buick buddies for help.

The problem is that Competition Engeenering traction bars won't fit right. The left requires 1" lopped off the snubber to fit, and the right side snubber is 2" below the frame. After changing 10 bolt housings and replacing the leaf springs, the problem was there again.
The car was stripped for restoration, showed no signs of ever being in an accident and the front springs measure level.
    Any clues?

Get rid of them and purchase a set of Cal-Trac's. He will be glad he did.

    Randy, You are right.
Would you believe, I told him 2-3 years ago he needed Cal-Trac's. He didn't listen. Yea,half the price, but.....

Ask him how much his time is worth, both working on the car to fix his problem, and at the track losing races because of his problem? If spending more time racing and less time fixing the car isn't worth the extra cost of a set of Cal-Tracs, maybe he should find a new hobby. His racing logic has a fatal flaw. It's time to work smart, instead of just hard. Later, Randy
