Township is cutting down my 160 year old red Oak.

    You can get a bunch of tree huggers from Berkley CA to live in tbe tree. Make a big spectacle of the thing.

    Have you thought about doing a joint well with your neighbor and share the electric bill for the well pump

    Tell the Twp. there are about 500 nails in the tree. They may be a bit reluctant to cut it.

    Revised !!! Yes They are going down the other side of the road. Township coordinater called the water Authority. They will not cut tree down. Miracle. I just Dodged a bullet.

    You can count on paying a "betterment" fee. It is usually charged by the foot of frontage on the road. You can fight the water line, but if they do it, you will be wasteing your time and money fighting the fee. It doesn't matter whether you hook up or not. Think carefully about hooking up - in Massachusetts the standard practice is that they will not dig up the newly-paved road for five years unless it is an emergency (read pipe break).
