I Know...I Know...It goes totally against the grain here but it was hilarious...
Deanna and I went to town to get groceries and stuff. While I was at Wal Mart, there was a younger dude sitting in a split bumper Camaro (70-71 era)just looking around. I glanced over at it and gave him a nod in acceptance and proceeded to put the bags in back. As I was about to get in, Mr Camaro who had a nice sounding exhaust came by and kinda gave me a glare look. I shrugged it off and proceeded to leave. As I was going through the lot to the exit, he happened to be sitting still not paying attention, just to the left of the exit.I came to the exit and he apparently thought he was in the right and thought I cut him off. He then tailgated me to the stop sign and revved the old girl up showing his almighty 327,trying to intimidate me.. I went out about 300 yards to the traffic light and was turning left. Up beside me came the killer Camaro. He made sure he pulled up beside me so the exhaust was right beside me. As I turned left on the main highway,he decided to drop it in low and flog it. I thought OK boy I will at least keep up with you and make an ass of you. But, unknown to both me and him, I immediately jumped beside him then proceeded to beat him by 1 1/2 lengths...I was laughing as the a/c was on,8 bags of groceries were in the back and Deanna was in with me..We were at the next light and this time I bumped it into 1st and waited. With a mighty rev,the light turned and I really hammered into the throttle. I immediately grabbed 2 lengths and shifted then had him by 3-4 lengths. It sounded like a train coming and I thought at any moment,he'd come screaming by. At about 85mph,I left off as did he. We came to the next exit off 15 and he turned into West Milton..I myself was laughing and thrilled by my win.Deanna, not so much. I told her I had to redeem myself and she called me a dumbass...Even though I didn't have my Buick this time, I still laid to rest an almighty SBC..What was I driving you ask???? See below...

Gotta love the 5.7L Hemi. I've killed a few in my Ram. I have to launch in 4WD otherwise I just leave two black stripes :3gears: .

The Magna flow exhaust and K&N Intake help alot. I am at 370 hp with those modifications and the powerwire helps even more. It also helps that I have 3.73 gears too...lol I take the ESP control off when things like this come along. This Jeep pulled a 3400 lb car from Illinois to Pa effortlessly and I got almost 14mpg. I just upgraded the EGR valve on it yesterday and that helped idle and surging...

I had been debating getting a Dynomax cat-back, Vararam Hemi intake, and tuner for a while but all my other projects keeps sucking up my money. How do you like that powerwire?

I've got to a get a new posi unit too - I seemed to have smoked the factory unit.

    You bet!!!!

    Andy,
I bought my Powerwire from here

    http://www.airram.com/product.php?categoryid=646&productid=21

It's really plug and play. I have gained about 1-1/2 mpg-3 while highway cruising, but at Wide open throttle, you know the mileage suffers... Pretty good gain for under 65 bucks. The seat of the pants dyno makes it feel worth it. Then the Magnaflow opens up and you get this smile on your face. It also helps alot with towing as well...

Yea, I hang out on DodgeTalk a bit and the Air Ram owner is a pretty big sponser/supporter. I'm going to get new tires later this week (Bridgestone Dueler AT) and maybe I'll give the truck a lil' extra love. I think the only thing I've added in 3+ years is Silverstars in the headlights and fogs. It's time for a new mod!

My mother just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee 6.1L SRT-8 Hemi and it is one of the fastest vehicles I have ever driven. My friend who drag races at the track says he has seen them go from 12.90's to 13.1's stock. It's all wheel drive and it takes off like a rocket. The best part is from light to light its almost unbeatable b/c everyone else spins thier tires. It is awesome.

The 5.7s are pretty quick but yes the SRT8 Jeeps DO run the 1/4 in the high 12s 100% bone stock. I've seen it. And from what I hear they will do 0-60 in 5 seconds in rain, snow or dry pavement. Very impressive

I know lots of guys on here don't like the new hemis but they are pretty quick. My Ram went 14.5s with just bolt ons. Not bad for a 4800 lb truck. The new reg cab short beds run 14.1s 100% stock.

I hear the new '09 Ram R/T is pretty nasty. I have yet to see one on the street or at the dealership though.

Yeah, low 14s. Not bad at all! Finally quicker than the Tundras.

After last weekends EGR valve replacement I did,I had chance to drive it to work this week and I have been getting the best average mpg too. I was normally 16.9-17.5 and it's averaging 20.1-21.9 now...A good deal for the 63 bucks I paid. And the surging/hesitation is gone as well. Guess it needed the replacement. One day I should hit the track with it...
