Did you say a converter for $99.from jegs? You'll be disappointed then blame the engine. Besides probably breaking it. A quality converter to handle the torque and stall properly, then tighten up on the top, expect to pay at least $500-600. The ones we put behind some strong street/strip engines I do are $700 plus.

dont do it, even the off the shelf units for 300 wont work right with even a stk big block power.

your converter is the only part that transfer power from the motor to the transmission. have it work right is more important than a cam or anything else almost. the ppl Gary has build them have already gone through the struggles to get them correct for our motors. them, jw, ultimate, whoever.........not ebay, not jegs, summit, slap together cheap parts stuff.

buy it right one and only cry once

I have a few good convertors, that have been run behind big block Olds engines; lots of torque like a Buick. I don't know where you're located, as shipping can get expensive on a heavy item. I'm in South Florida, near Ft. Lauderdale. If interested, email me direct: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

I never buy ANY converter off the shelf from Summit it Jeg’s. They are very vague with application, and most are built for a SBC. It will act completely different behind a BBB,if it even lasts.
