    Fluid level check?

Bleed air. Check for breaks or leakage.

I am presuming the top has no binds and would move freely if disconnected.

This may sound stupid, but how do you get to anything to work on it or check it with the top down? I have been all over it and still don't see a way. Never had a convertible before.

First of all thanks Jim. Now the question is, how do you fill it and with what? The lines are clear and there looks to be more air than fluid. What I thought would be a filler plug turned out to create a mess of what little fluid was in there. I am assumeing you would have to bleed this when done. How is that done? Is all this info in the manual?

Use trans fluid, a turkey baster or a syringe from Harbor Freight.

    Might help getting it raised:
When I had my convert and the lines needed to be bled I could get it up by running the pump down for 5 seconds or so, then up, and it would raise
