Just to let others know that NC is a great state to get title documentation from. I just recieved my GSX's title info from the day it was sold new in Burlington NC ( 7-14-70 ) until I bought it in 1981. It started with the Manufactures Statement of Origin and went to the owner I bought it from.I even found out it was Repossed from one of the owners. The total cost was $10 for a certified history of my car by just the serial #. I tried to get the NC title I brought back and turned in to PA so I could register it. PA will only trace a title back 5 years. I am sure that PA has the same way of keeping records as NC but I guess they are too lazy to hunt through old records. Any one who has a car that was originally in NC or still is should have the search done. Mine took appx. 5-6 weeks but was worth the wait. You can download the form from the NC DOT site. I included a short letter explaining why I was seeking a search. All title are complete front and back with all signatures and owners names . Lou, I have a question for you. Do you know when your GSX's build date was? What about the date on the MSO? I know you said it was sold new in July '70 and your GSX is #554 (of 678). I was wondering how long your car sat at the dealership before being sold. It seems very late in the production year to have 120+ remaining GSXs to be built. Just curious.
