No code for the 'chip guard'; It was factory on 1987's (at least MINE came with it); If I recall correctly it was called 'plastisol'. It looked real weird on a Turbo Regal Limited... like rust bubbles forming...

OE shocks on T's were BLACK; can't remember the specific part numbers, but I have them printed out from one of my cars that I sold back in 1997.

Did GM just use sealer for a gasket on the rear cover? My T-Type has this all around the cover. DSC03764.JPG This car must have been undercoated. Wonder if it was factory or dealer?

Undercoating was not a factory option, to the best of my knowledge. It was documented that the LAST GRAND NATIONAL had special treatment on some components prior to assembly! Yours has aftermarket 'tar-based' undercoating. Look at Youtubes of true original cars at auction, like GNX547; and shows/events like at Richard Clark's: shiny and silver/galvanized gas tanks I always had it done, or was already done, by the dealer prior to my acceptance. This ALMOST caused a problem a few years ago when I was looking at a GN for a friend; It was one of the first of the 'late production' GN's; 09C cowl code. (Those cars have the three 'take everything, delete nothing' packages 1SA; 1SB; 1SC) We both knew that it had been in some sort of accident prior to his purchase (Why else would the SPID label and surrounding sheet metal be cut off from the original trunk?) I saw all those bare spot welds on the rear quarters on the lower seams inside/under the floor, and thought "Man has this car been through hell!". Later I thought about cars might NOT have ever been undercoated...

Very Nice Turbo T, I had a Black T with grey interior also, it ended up being converted into a white GNX clone with black trim. T3.jpg

Black Turbo T is on the road. Have put about 100 miles on it. Changed the tires, cleaned up the brakes, changed the lower door panels, to get rid of the hack job they did to put speaker in. Changed the oil and put a new battery in. Only issue is I have a leaking brake pressure switch. Took time to fined it, no brake problems yet, just a small leak from inside the connections, will look for a new one.

Bet it felt great to drive it again!
I drove my buddy's 87 T-type a few times, those are great cars. He's had it parked in the back of his Garage for at least 15 years.

If you need repo parts for it, Kirban Performance is one of the industry leaders:

Here's one of his videos explaining the powermaster brake system:

We made it to the BCA National meet, and took the Turbo-T. Was shocked when the car won DSC03768.JPG a Elite Archival Preservation award.
