I'm going to be in need for better brakes. Set up now is as basic as it gets 4 wheel manual drum. Has worked fine running 10.90s at just under 120mph, but with the new motor if all goes right, they will no longer be safe.

Car sees zero street time, most races are 1/8mile, but some 1/4 is done. I know wilwood and big boys have kits that are up there in price.

I really don't thing I need 6 piston all the way around.

Needs to fit under 15" wheels, prefer simple bolt on, but if I need to weld a bracket to the axle tube no big deal.

Just wondering what others have done.

Rear is still the Buick 8.5

Look for disc front and rear....has to stay manual

I installed the conversion kit from Master Power brakes back in March I believe. Nice complete kit, very easy install done on a Saturday . The proportioning valve started to leak about 2 months later, called them up and told them about the leak and they sent out a new one that day, no charge, no return of old part. The customer service was great and in my book that counts for a lot ! I posted a review at the time, but I dont know how to post a link to it, I guess you could just search my posts. Oh, still happy with it several thousand miles later. Hope this helps you some.

I run a B-body spindle in the front, with 12” 88-92 Camaro 1LE rotors, and Police calipers. They fit behind my Prostars. However, you will need different upper A-arms,outer tie rods, and lower ball joints for that swap. There are some other attractive kits out there now,and some of them can be mounted to your stock drum spindle.
As far as the rear goes,I install a lot of the kits from Right Stuff Detailing or Inline Tube. It pretty much consists of a late 70’s Eldorado caliper, with a late 70’s Firebird rear rotor. You can get them with or without e-brakes.

That rear kit fits the bop rear bolt in axles??, I saw they have basic front stk style kit too

Yes,the bracket fits over the BOP axle. I had to grind the Right Stuff brackets a little, but the Inline Tube addressed that issue, and theirs go right on.
I think the front disc kit the Right Stuff has is just an OEM style.

    I saw that kit,but wasn’t sure if my 15” skinnies would clear. I have a 15x5,and don’t have much backspace,so they might. A 15x7 will not clear.

Yea the 15x5's may with 1/4in spacer or something, I'm going to run 17's up front of mine,..going back and forth on wheels now

I saw these too but didn't think there was any chance to clear 15" rims at all. Wasn't sure with these showing more for the f body how the steering arms would work on our cars

I would imagine for just the drag racing the factory stuff with maybe better calipers up front with add on rear disc I should be ok.

We stopped from 122 the other day at Norwalk with no issues, we turned a little and dropped .2 in the 1/8th and gained a little over 2.5 mph there..........not sure what that will add to the top of the 1/4. But I know Norwalk has a lot of shut down so if it goes 124/125 I'm sure at least there we will be ok with our 4 wheel drums.
