Been there, done that...my very first order was screwed up, and after discussing the problem over the phone I realized I was wasting my time. I offered to send a photo of my original brake hoses compared to the wrong ones they sent, but the guy said "sorry, I don't have e-mail here."

    I simply purchased them elsewhere.

:spank: :blast: I'll never have anything to do with Cars again.Once i bought a part from them which turned out to be a piece of s***.Was supposedly a great used part.:Dou:
Thing that made me the maddest was when the arrogant acting guy refused to take a check from me at the GS Nats one year. They actually had what i needed there & i could visually see it.
Never expierenced such callous arrogance before or since!:af:

That reminds me........the repro radiator cap I got from them didn't even make it through the first year before it began leaking. I didn't even bother asking them to stand behind it, the price of the toll calls would have only paid for the new one! I couldn't see kissing their butts all over again for another excercise in frustration. [IMG]

Well, this was my first bad experience BUT it was a doozie. THe guy said a couple of times, "of course if CARS is at fault we will reimburse your freight...but I can't see anywhere that it is our fault" HELLO JACK...I didn't pull a part number out of thin air and give it your customer service guy. I called asking for a 70 specific, non-bracket washer jar for a 1970 GS455...your guy sent me a 67 Riviera jar. How is that NOT your fault??! His response..."I don't see anyhwere that we can reimburse your freight unless we are at fault". Nevermind the 2nd jar sent that was the bracket type (which type I expressly asked them NOT to send)

It was like a bad, mini episode of Groundhog Day...same thing over and over.

    Michael Evans a new project

    He does seam very arrogant.

I was there picking up a few parts I wanted. He made me put them down on the table in a pile like I was going to rip him off or something.

Like some other places. Nothing is their fault

After hearing these horror stories, I doubt I'll ever order from them.

Funny thing is I have ordered from them 5 times this year and have no problems with anything from them. All of my orders were $300-500 each and they never messed them up and the shipping times and costs were in line. So dont believe everything is bad with them because its not...............

I've never ordered anything from CARS and played the shipping game with them but I do know this. They are the ONLY repop co. that shows up at the GSCA Nats event every year. I know Legendary usually shows up and some others do as well but CARS is the only full resto shop that shows up and brings a fair amount of parts. I appreciate that because when I need a bunch of adds and ends nuts, bolts, brackets, clips etc. They have everything on the spot every year. That is very nice.
I'm not crazy about them but I have to give them that much. Where are the other vendors?

Sounds like they need some stiff competition.

Dealing with car in person is different than dealing with them over the phone. I ordered a complete interior for my sky from them and was very unpleased with it, and got stuck with it. Now I don't know about actual parts from OPGI cali, but I have ordered stuff from them that are just small things and they were real good, but I think the best 2 that I have ever delt with are Tthe Parts Place, and Year One. Have never gotten anythingbad from Parts Place, and whenever I have gotten the wrong stuff from Year One they were very good about replacing it or crediting it to me.
